| Obverse description | Plain white card stock with a simple typeset layout enclosed within a rectangular border of repeated guilloche-style lozenges at top and bottom. The central text in German reads the bank name and redemption obligation in letterpress, with the denomination ZWANZIG RUPIEN in large bold type; the date and place of issue, Tabora, den 15. März 1915, appear below. Two manuscript signatures are present at the foot, attributed to a branch representative and an authorized signatory of the Deutsch-Ostafrikanische Bank, Zweigniederlassung Daressalam, with the serial number handwritten in ink at the top. |
