| Reverse description | The reverse is printed on the same lilac cardboard stock and repeats the full obverse text layout in an identical typeset composition, again framed by guilloche border bands with the numeral '20' in each corner and the header 'Interims-Banknote' at the top. The payment obligation text, denomination 'ZWANZIG RUPIEN', date 'Tabora, den 15. März 1915', and the two signature lines for 'Eingetragen durch:' and 'In Vollmacht:' are all present, with manuscript signatures in ink. This mirror-image printing is characteristic of the emergency Interims-Banknote issues produced under wartime conditions in German East Africa. |
