Korçë's 1921 municipal emergency notes are among the rarest Albanian local issues known. Following the collapse of reliable currency supply in the early Albanian state period, several municipalities briefly issued their own scrip to keep local commerce functional — Korçë being one of the few that actually followed through. The denomination in skenderë (singular: skender), a unit named after Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu, was a short-lived Albanian monetary experiment that never achieved national traction.
Surviving examples are extremely scarce; most were redeemed and destroyed once central banking arrangements stabilized.
