The 200 Ariary denomination sits at the lower end of Madagascar's current paper series — modest enough that it sees genuine street circulation rather than the drawer-hoarding that afflicts higher values. Giesecke & Devrient, which has printed Malagasy currency through multiple political transitions on the island, produced this through their Leipzig facility, one of the oldest continuously operating security printing operations in the world.
Security provision is minimal for the denomination — watermark only, no security thread. That choice reflects cost-to-denomination economics more than any oversight.
