Bank Al-Maghrib's in-house printer, Dar As-Sikkah, has produced Moroccan banknotes since 1987 — one of relatively few central bank printing works on the African continent operating at full commercial scale. The 200 Dirham denomination sits at the upper end of everyday circulation values in Morocco, making it a priority target for counterfeiting pressure and the logical recipient of the color-shifting ink added to this 2023 issue.
P#82 is a recent cataloging, and secondary market data on this series remains thin.
