Opmerkingen

The National Bank of Vietnam contracted the American Bank Note Company for several of its early issues, this being among them. ABNC's New York engravers produced work of considerably higher technical quality than the South Vietnamese government could have sourced domestically at the time, a practical necessity for a young central bank trying to establish credibility against a population still partly accustomed to French Indochinese piastres.

Pick 9 is the least frequently encountered denomination of the 1958 series in higher circulated grades, with heavy wear concentrated along horizontal fold lines — a consequence of how larger-value notes were typically stored folded in markets and carried by traders rather than held flat.
