| Vorderseitenbeschreibung | The central vignette presents an intaglio-style engraving of the ancient minaret and fortified structures of the Ouadane Mosque in the Adrar Region, set against a warm ochre and gold guilloche underprint suggestive of a desert landscape. At upper left, a transparent polymer window bears a colour-shifting open-book security motif, while a crescent-and-star emblem of Mauritania appears within a second clear window at upper right. Arabic numerals '٢٠٠' are rendered in large intaglio type at centre-left, flanked by two facsimile signatures below, and the denomination in Arabic script appears along the lower margin. |

| Rückseitenbeschreibung | The central vignette comprises an intaglio-engraved pastoral scene of dromedary camels — one standing, one resting — alongside smaller livestock gathered beneath a tall date palm, rendered in olive-brown tones against a golden desert underprint. The Mauritanian national emblem with crescent, star and palm fronds appears at upper left, and a large denomination numeral '200' is printed in intaglio at centre-right. At the far right, the transparent polymer window repeats the open-book colour-shifting motif visible from the obverse. |

Mauritania's switch to polymer for this series was partly driven by the country's climate — extreme heat and wind-blown sand degrade cotton-paper notes rapidly in the Saharan interior. G+D's Leipzig facility has handled polymer substrate printing for a number of West African central banks, and the 200 Ouguiya was among the earlier Mauritanian denominations converted under the new format adopted ahead of the 2018 currency redenomination, which dropped two zeros and introduced the new ouguiya at 1:10 against the old.
