| Opmerkingen |
Issued in 2021 to mark the fifth anniversary of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's Vision 2030 economic reform program, this note was a deliberate commemorative issue rather than a routine series replacement. Saudi Arabia had not issued a commemorative banknote since the 1999 centenary series honoring King Abdulaziz, making this a notable departure from decades of conservative monetary policy on note design.
De La Rue's involvement continues a relationship with the Saudi monetary authorities stretching back to the Kingdom's earliest paper currency issues in the 1950s.
