| Beschrijving voorzijde | Entirely typographic and guilloche-based design in teal and cream, with no pictorial vignette. A central oval medallion carries the large numeral '200' above the inscription 'LATVIJAS RUBĻU', enclosed within a star-burst frame of fine-line guilloche work; a shield-shaped panel at upper left bears the issuer's temporary-note legend and date '1992', while the large numeral '200' repeats at lower left and upper right. Two facsimile signatures appear at the foot, identified by the titles 'LATVIJAS BANKAS PREZIDENTS' at left and 'LATVIJAS BANKAS GALVENAIS KASIERIS' at right, with an alphanumeric serial number printed in black at the right margin. |

| Opmerkingen |
Latvia restored its banking sovereignty in March 1990 and reintroduced the lats as its permanent currency, but the rublis served as a transitional instrument during 1992–1993 while the infrastructure for full monetary conversion was assembled. The 200 Rubļu sits near the top of that short-lived series — a denomination large enough to reflect the inflationary pressure inherited from the Soviet ruble system it was replacing.
Giesecke & Devrient produced the series to a high security standard despite its explicitly temporary purpose. Šmeļkovs designed all notes in the rublis series, giving it unusual visual consistency for an issue that was never intended to last.
