Siemens Nixdorf produced test notes specifically for calibrating and validating currency-handling machinery — sorters, counters, ATMs, and dispensers. These pieces were never intended to circulate and carry no monetary value; their function was purely mechanical, used on production floors and in bank equipment testing environments.
By 1999, Siemens Nixdorf had been absorbed into Wincor Nixdorf following a corporate restructuring. Test notes from this transitional period are occasionally found still bearing the older branding.
