Obverse description Printed in black with a red official seal and red block number. The Imperial Chrysanthemum Seal of Japan and the denomination are centrally positioned over an intricate guilloche underprint. Vertical text columns carry the full legend in classical Chinese script, including the promise to pay two hundred yen in gold, the Bank of Japan governor's seal, and the imprint of the Imperial Government Cabinet Printing Bureau.
