Obverse description Intaglio portrait of Gábor Bethlen, Grand Prince of Transylvania, rendered in period attire and positioned to the right of centre over a fine guilloche underprint in olive-brown tones, with the inscription 'BETHLEN GÁBOR' above and 'KÉTEZER FORINT' across the centre field. The large numeral '2000' appears at lower right, while the Hungarian coat of arms vignette and the issuing authority legend 'MAGYAR NEMZETI BANK' occupy the lower left, accompanied by two facsimile signatures. The date 'BUDAPEST 1998' and the engraver's imprint 'VAGYÓCZKY K. DEL. ET SC.' complete the obverse.
