备注

Issued to mark Hungary's millennium celebration of 1000 years of statehood — the nation having adopted the year 2000 as the symbolic endpoint of a millennium begun with Stephen I's coronation on 25 December 1000 AD. It was a commemorative issue intended for circulation rather than mere collection, though demand from collectors meant large quantities went directly into albums rather than tills.

Vagyóczky's dual credit as both designer and engraver is notable; the Magyar Pénzjegynyomda has maintained intaglio engraving as a house discipline since the interwar period, and this note is among the more carefully executed examples of that tradition in the post-communist era.
