The Glorioso Islands have no permanent civilian population, no domestic economy, and no monetary system — they are a French military outpost in the northern Mozambique Channel, administered under the French Southern and Antarctic Lands. No currency has ever been needed there, and none has ever circulated. Notes issued in the name of scattered French island territories like this one are fantasy items produced for the collector market, with no legal tender basis and no issuing authority with the power to create one.
