2000 Francs

The BCEAO 2000 Francs series is notable partly for how many hands have signed it — this Pick number alone carries over a dozen recorded signature combinations spanning two decades of rotating presidents and vice-governors across the eight-member West African Economic and Monetary Union. That administrative churn is a direct artifact of the WAEMU governance structure, where top posts rotate among member states on a fixed schedule.

Printed by the Banque de France under a long-standing arrangement that predates BCEAO's 1962 founding, these notes remain among the few CFA Franc issues produced entirely outside the issuing zone, a legacy of the post-colonial monetary agreement with Paris.
