The 1992 series was Spain's last major peseta issue before the country committed fully to the euro transition timeline. Reinhold Gerstetter's involvement is notable — the London-based engraver worked across numerous European central bank commissions during the late twentieth century, and his participation here alongside Spanish engravers at the FNMT reflects a common practice of blending domestic and foreign intaglio expertise on security printing projects.
