Opmerkingen

The 2000 Pesos Dominicanos denomination was introduced in 2011 as the highest value note in Dominican circulation — a reflection of inflation that had quietly eroded the purchasing power of the older 1000-peso ceiling over the preceding decade. What makes this short series particularly useful for specialists is the printer change between dates: the 2011 issue came from De la Rue while the 2012 moved to Oberthur, and the two can be distinguished by subtle differences in intaglio depth and paper feel that the security thread placement alone won't resolve.
