| Descrizione del dritto | The obverse is dominated by a finely engraved vignette of the Sigiriya Rock Fortress at centre-right, rendered in dark intaglio against a peach and green guilloche underprint, with a traditional ceremonial needle and decorative circular motif overlaid to the right. At lower left, a processional vignette of elephants and costumed figures appears in letterpress, while the large numeral '2000' is printed in dark ink at upper left and again in outline form at lower right. The issuer's name appears in Sinhala, Tamil, and English scripts across the upper centre, flanked by two manuscript signatures with their titles and the date of issue below. |
