| 备注 |
The 2000 Rupee denomination was introduced specifically on polymer substrate — De La Rue's Safeguard material — making it the highest-value note in the Mauritian series to receive that treatment. Polymer adoption at this denomination level reflects a deliberate anti-counterfeiting priority: high-value notes in small island economies with significant tourist and offshore banking sectors are disproportionate targets for sophisticated forgery.
De La Rue's Mauritius relationship stretches back decades, but the move to polymer for the top denomination was a relatively late decision in the regional context, with neighbours like Madagascar and the Seychelles having made similar transitions at different value tiers.
