Beschrijving voorzijde The Mongolian national emblem, the Soyombo symbol, is depicted centrally within the field, featuring the tripartite flame, sun, moon, and yin-yang motifs surmounting a rectangular cartouche flanked by two upright bars. The emblem is framed on either side by symmetrical olive branches tied at the base with a ribbon bearing the Cyrillic legend МОНГОЛУЛС. The date 1994 appears in the exergue below the emblem. The entire design is executed in high relief against a mirror-polished field, consistent with proof coinage.

Aanvullende informatie

Mongolia's snow leopard gold issues of the early 1990s were produced as the country navigated its transition from Soviet satellite to independent market economy — a period when hard currency reserves were critically low and numismatic exports represented a genuine revenue stream. The .583 fineness is characteristic of Soviet-influenced gold standards still in use across the former Eastern Bloc at the time.
