The 150g, 60mm Panda gold coin occupies the top of China's annual Panda bullion series, a program that has run continuously since 1982 and is notable for changing its design every year — one of the few major bullion programs in the world to do so. The People's Bank of China introduced the 2000 Yuan face value denomination at this size as the series expanded its weight range in the early 2000s.
