Obverse description Helmeted and cuirassed bust of the king facing right, rendered in a crude late antique style characteristic of Ostrogothic minor coinage. The effigy is enclosed within a beaded border, with the abbreviated royal titulature distributed in the fields to either side of the bust. The portrait retains vestigial Roman imperial iconography, with the helmet and cuirass evoking the tradition of military ruler portraits.
