| Obverse description | Central field bears the Hawk of Quraish, the coat of arms of Syria, depicted with wings displayed and a shield upon its breast charged with three stars. The hawk clutches a scroll inscribed with the state title in Arabic. The AD date appears to the left and the AH date to the right of the central device, both rendered in Arabic-Indic numerals.
