Obverse lettering Banco Central de Nicaragua VEINTICINCO CENTAVOS DE CORDOBA
Reverse description The Nicaraguan national coat of arms — an equilateral triangle enclosing five volcanoes and a rising sun, encircled by the legends REPUBLICA DE NICARAGUA and AMERICA CENTRAL — occupies the left half of the reverse. To the right, a large intaglio numeral '25' is set against a vignette of the Sacuanjoche (Plumeria rubra), Nicaragua's national flower, with denomination numerals repeated in guilloche rosettes at each corner. A multicolour microprint underprint bearing the repeated text 'CORDOBA ORO' fills the central field.
