| 背面描述 | The reverse presents a finely detailed relief reproduction of Gustav Klimt's celebrated 1907–1908 painting 'Der Kuss' (The Kiss), depicting an embracing couple enveloped in richly ornamented robes decorated with circular and geometric Jugendstil motifs. The female figure's face is shown in profile with closed eyes and flowing curled hair, her hands raised gracefully to her neck, while the male figure bends tenderly toward her. The legend '"DER KUSS"' appears vertically along the left field, with 'GUSTAV KLIMT' inscribed below it, and the inscription 'MEISTERWERK DES JUGENDSTILS' (Masterpiece of Art Nouveau) running along the right inner border. |

Issued as part of Austria's "Silver Niobium" precursor series before niobium bimetallic technology was introduced in 2003, this 1997 piece belongs to an earlier run of Austrian silver commemoratives that the mint used to test collector appetite for high-concept art-themed issues. Klimt died in February 1918, weeks after suffering a stroke — the Spanish flu compounded his decline before he could complete several major canvases left unfinished in his studio.
