| Obverse description | The obverse is set against an elaborate geometric and floral arabesque underprint in blue, red, and ochre, characteristic of the Levantine decorative style. A central cartouche in Arabic script states the denomination — خمسة وعشرون غرشاً (Twenty-Five Piastres) — flanked by the serial number 764 to the left and series designation L.34 to the right; the numeral 25 appears in a medallion at the lower right within a scalloped frame. The bank title in Arabic (بنك سوريا والبنان الكبير) is inscribed in the upper panel, with the date بيروت في ١٥ نيسان ١٩٢٥ (Beirut, 15 April 1925) and two manuscript signatures below the central text block. |
