Agroprombank — the Agroindustrial Bank — has operated as one of Transnistria's key state-linked financial institutions since the early post-Soviet period, serving an economy that no internationally recognized government acknowledges. This coin is part of a broader Pridnestrovian practice of issuing circulating commemorative rubles that double as institutional promotion, a pattern the Republican Bank has maintained for years across denominations.
Transnistria's ruble remains unbacked by any external monetary agreement and is accepted nowhere outside the strip.
