| Rückseitenbeschreibung | Central scenic vignette of a traditional ox cart laden with sugar cane, drawn by two oxen through a rural landscape with mountains visible in the background and a bare tree to the left, rendered in intaglio in shades of green. The composition evokes the agricultural heritage of Mauritius, with fine engine-turned guilloche borders framing the design on all sides. Denomination counters appear in each corner, with the bank name inscription across the top. |

| Anmerkungen |
Mauritius gained independence in March 1968, and this series — printed by De La Rue in London — bridged the transition from the colonial Currency Board to the newly established Bank of Mauritius. The 25 Rupee denomination is the highest face value in Pick 32's immediate run, and the eleven-year span of the series accommodated two distinct signature combinations, making pairing them a minor collecting discipline in itself.
The Beejadhur/Cook pairing reflects the early institutional years; Bunwaree/Ramphul belongs to the mid-1970s. Neither variant is particularly rare, but the Cook signature — a British appointee during the handover period — disappeared from Mauritian notes fairly quickly.
