Senegal's 250 Francs CFA issues in this micro-gold format are produced under licensing arrangements common among West African CFA franc states, where the actual striking is typically contracted to European mints — most often in Poland or the Czech Republic — with the issuing country's nominal authority lending little more than its name. These pieces are aimed squarely at the novelty collector market and never circulate in Senegal.
