| Reversbeschreibung | Central field depicts the steamer Chelyuskin navigating through Arctic pack ice, the vessel's name inscribed on its hull in Cyrillic. Below, a bearded bust portrait of Otto Yulievich Schmidt faces slightly left, rendered against a stylised ice floe background. The legend identifying the vessel as ПАРОХОД "ЧЕЛЮСКИН" appears in the lower portion of the brass ring, while the series title ЗНАМЕНИТЫЕ КОРАБЛИ РОССИЙСКОГО ФЛОТА arcs across the upper ring. The name and life dates of Schmidt (1891–1955) are inscribed beneath his portrait in the inner steel disc. |

| Zusätzliche Informationen |
The Chelyuskin was a Soviet steamship that became internationally famous when it sank in the Chukchi Sea in February 1934 after being trapped and crushed by pack ice during an attempt to navigate the Northern Sea Route in a single season. All 104 people aboard survived on the ice for two months before being evacuated by Soviet pilots — the first ever recipients of the newly created Hero of the Soviet Union award, conferred personally by Stalin for the rescue operation.
The "Arctic Territories" issuer designation is a novelty authority with no governing jurisdiction, producing coins marketed primarily to collectors rather than circulating as legal tender.
