Mongolia's astrological series, issued through the mid-2000s, targeted the collector market rather than circulation — these were sold directly to international buyers and rarely, if ever, passed through Mongolian commerce. Libra was among twelve designs released across the series, each tied to a Western zodiac sign, an unusual thematic choice for a central bank whose domestic numismatic tradition draws far more naturally from the lunar calendar.
