| Reverse description | Central voided lozenge with gilded center, set at the intersection of a large cross whose terminals each terminate in small crosslets, forming a cross-crosslet composition. Four additional crosslets occupy the diagonal fields between the arms of the principal cross, and a further ring of Ge'ez legend characters surrounds the entire device. The partial gilding of the lozenge at center is a deliberate monetary convention distinguishing this higher-denomination Aksumite silver issue. The whole is contained within a beaded border. |
