Opmerkingen

Plantation scrip from French Indochina is rarely documented with this level of provenance. The Société des Plantations de Honquan was a rubber concern operating in Cochinchina, and like most large agricultural enterprises in the colony, it issued its own low-denomination tokens and notes to pay coolies in a closed currency redeemable only at the company store — a system that effectively trapped labor on the estate.

Printed locally by C. Ardin & Fils rather than imported from a metropolitan French printer, which was unusual enough to suggest urgency or cost-cutting. Ardin operated primarily as a commercial job printer in Saigon, not a security printer.
