Reverse description The central field features a frontal view of a traditional Fijian bure (chief's dwelling), depicted with a steeply pitched thatched roof, woven wall panels, and a raised platform base. A tall palm tree flanks each side of the structure, framing the composition symmetrically. The legend 'FIJI' and the date '1947' arc across the upper periphery, while the denomination 'THREE PENCE' is inscribed in a curved legend along the lower portion of the dodecagonal flan. The design was engraved by George James Berry.
