| Obverse description | Bimetallic coin with a copper-nickel centre set within a brass ring. The centre features the numeral '3' in large relief at the centre of the field, with the Cyrillic inscription 'СОМОНӢ' (Somoni) inscribed below within a decorative cartouche flanked by stylised foliate ornaments. Above the numeral, the national emblem of Tajikistan is depicted in fine detail.
