Reader's Digest România ran a direct-mail sweepstake campaign in 2009 using these novelty notes as promotional inserts — recipients were told they had "won" or could win 3,000 euro, with the note serving as a physical prop to drive response rates. The denomination has no relation to any real monetary instrument; the figure was chosen purely for psychological impact in the marketing copy.
