At 0.031 grams, this is among the smallest gold coins ever formally issued — a category that has proliferated since the mid-2010s as a handful of mints, primarily Münze Österreich under licensing arrangements, began producing fractional novelty issues for the Central African CFA franc zone. Chad has no domestic mint; these are struck in Europe and issued nominally under Chadian authority as collectibles, never intended for circulation.
