| 表面の説明 | The obverse features a playful carnival-themed composition designed by Karlo Gross in a stylised, hand-drawn artistic manner. A string of triangular bunting pennants stretches across the central field, flanked by two carnival masks or costumed figures at left and right. Two stacked hats — a rounded bowler-style hat above and a top hat with decorative trim below — occupy the lower left field. The legend 'REPUBLIKA HRVATSKA' is inscribed in a festive script across the upper field, with the denomination '4 euro' rendered in matching informal lettering at the lower right. |

Samobor's carnival, held annually since at least the 1820s, is one of the oldest continuously running carnival traditions in Croatia and predates the country's various political reorganizations by decades. The Croatian Mint has built a recurring series around regional cultural events, and Samobor — a small town southwest of Zagreb — earns its place in that series through sheer longevity of tradition rather than size or prominence.
The 4 euro denomination reflects Croatia's eurozone accession on 1 January 2023, the first full year the kuna ceased to be legal tender.
