Obverse description Central field dominated by the Ottoman tughra of Sultan Mehmed V, rendered in elaborate calligraphic style and enclosed within a beaded inner circle. Floral and foliate ornamental devices appear in the lower field beneath the tughra. An outer border of fine reeding frames the entire design. The overall style is consistent with late Ottoman imperial coinage as produced at the Constantinople mint.
