Comments

A novelty item produced to mark Barack Obama's inauguration in January 2009, with the denomination of 44 referencing his status as the 44th President. These were manufactured by several private printers in the months surrounding the inauguration, none of whom had any connection to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. Biden and Clinton signatures appear here in their capacities as Vice President and Secretary of State — though Clinton had not yet been confirmed as Secretary of State on Inauguration Day itself.

No legal tender status, no issuing authority. The collectibility is entirely sentimental.
