| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse bears a three-line Arabic inscription filling the upper and central field within the scalloped flan. The uppermost arc reads 'سلطان مسقط وعمان' (Sultan of Muscat and Oman), with the ruler's name 'سعيد بن تيمور' (Sa'id bin Taimur) on the second line, all rendered in an elegant calligraphic style. The Hijri date '١٣٦٥' (1365 AH, corresponding to 1946 CE) is prominently inscribed in the lower field, separated from the name legend by open field space. The plain scalloped rim frames the composition with twelve uniform notches. |

This issue predates the formal renaming of the state — Muscat and Oman would not become simply "Oman" until 1970, when Said bin Taimur was deposed by his son Qaboos in a palace coup backed by the British. Said's monetary reforms of the 1940s introduced a proper decimal coinage structure to replace the chaotic mix of Indian rupees and Maria Theresa thalers that had previously dominated trade in the region.
