| Obverse description | This is a hobo nickel fantasy piece hand-carved from a standard Buffalo nickel obverse die. In place of the original Native American portrait, an alien effigy is depicted in left-facing profile, featuring a large, ovoid cranium with textured surface detailing, enormous almond-shaped eyes, a rudimentary nasal structure, and a striated neck. Flame-like or tentacular protrusions rise from the crown of the head, rendered in high relief. The legend LIBERTY appears along the upper right rim, and the date 1937 is incused in the lower exergual area, retained from the original host coin. |
