The shield displays crossed tools in its upper quarters and a sailing vessel in its lower portion, surmounted by a mahogany tree. A scroll beneath the shield bears the motto legend SUB UMBRA FLOREO. The country name BELIZE arcs along the upper field, and the date 1974 appears in the lower field, all enclosed within a laurel wreath and a bold beaded border at the rim. |
