背面描述 The reverse is rendered in rose-red intaglio on a light ground, with 'CENTRAL BANK OF JORDAN' lettered across the top margin. A large circular watermark space occupies the left field, while the right half carries a detailed architectural vignette of the Treasury at Petra (Al-Khazneh), set within the natural rock canyon; the caption 'TREASURY - PETRA' appears in small letterpress below the vignette. Corner numeral '5' appears in all four angles, with 'FIVE DINARS' inscribed along the lower centre margin.

备注

Jordan's first post-independence banknote series, of which this is a part, replaced the Jordan Currency Board issues that had been administered under British oversight. The Central Bank itself wasn't formally established until 1964 — meaning this 1959 note predates the institution whose name it carries, issued instead under enabling legislation that anticipated the bank's eventual founding.

Thomas De La Rue's involvement in this series was essentially a continuation of colonial-era printing arrangements, common across newly independent Arab states that lacked domestic printing infrastructure. The watermark security on these early issues was minimal by De La Rue's own standards of the period.
