| Obverse description | Central vignette of a traditional Arabian dhow under full sail on Aden harbour, with the volcanic rocky escarpment of Aden and the town's waterfront buildings in the background, rendered in intaglio in red-brown tones. The oval is set within an elaborate geometric framework of guilloche scrollwork and interlocking arabesques that fill the remainder of the note. Denomination numerals in Eastern Arabic and Western Arabic script appear in each corner against the ornate underprint. |
