The Bahrain Monetary Agency was replaced by the Central Bank of Bahrain in 2006, making any note bearing the BMA name and a 2008 date an oddity worth examining. The agency's authorizing legislation was dissolved before this note's stated year, which suggests either a delayed release from an earlier print run or a catalog dating convention that does not reflect the actual signature or issue date — Pick's assigned date does not always correspond to the year the notes entered circulation.
P#27 belongs to the fourth series, which phased out BMA branding incrementally as old stock cleared the system.
