| Reverse description | The central field is dominated by a large, boldly rendered Arabic calligraphic inscription reading 'أرض العزم' (Land of Determination) in an ornate, sweeping script that fills the textured inner field. Surrounding the central motif, the outer legend reads 'CENTENNIAL OF STATEHOOD 1921 - 2021' in Latin characters along the upper arc. The denomination '5 DINARS' appears in Latin script at the lower left of the border, while '٥ دنانير' in Arabic numerals and script appears at the lower right, completing the bilingual denomination inscription. |

Jordan's 2021 commemorative program marked the centenary of the Hashemite Kingdom, founded when Abdullah I was installed as Emir of Transjordan in April 1921 under British Mandate authority. The Central Bank issued this piece as part of that centennial series.
At 84.47 grams, this is a substantial bronze striking — well outside anything intended for pocket change. KM#97 traces cleanly to the Royal Mint's production for Jordan, which has contracted British minting facilities for commemorative work across multiple decades.
