Jordan's 2021 commemorative program marked the centenary of the Hashemite Kingdom, founded when Abdullah I was installed as Emir of Transjordan in April 1921 under British Mandate authority. The Central Bank issued this piece as part of that centennial series.
At 84.47 grams, this is a substantial bronze striking — well outside anything intended for pocket change. KM#97 traces cleanly to the Royal Mint's production for Jordan, which has contracted British minting facilities for commemorative work across multiple decades.
