Reverse description Printed entirely in green, the reverse is dominated by dense interlocking guilloche rosettes and lathe-work scrollwork filling the entire field. A central oval vignette contains what appears to be the bank's heraldic arms with a locomotive and landscape motif, surrounded by the inscriptions 'THE BANK OF OTTAWA' and 'DOLLARS'. Large numeral '5' counters anchor the left and right extremities, and the word 'FIVE' appears above the central vignette within the ornamental framework.
