备注

The Dominion Bank was a Toronto-based chartered bank that had operated since 1871, and by 1935 it was approaching the end of its independent existence — it merged with the Bank of Montreal in 1955. This note was issued under the provisions of the Bank Act, which still permitted Canadian chartered banks to issue their own currency in this period, a practice that would effectively wind down as the Bank of Canada, established in 1934, gradually assumed sole responsibility for note issue.

The Canadian Bank Note Company handled a large share of chartered bank printing in this period, and the quality of engraving on these late private issues is generally high. The 1935 date places this squarely in the transitional years before federal consolidation made such notes redundant.
