Obverse description The right half of the obverse is dominated by an intaglio vignette of the Chiremba Balancing Rocks, a celebrated granite formation in Matopos National Park, set against fine guilloche underprint in green. To the lower left, a zebra stands in grass, rendered in detailed intaglio engraving. The denomination $5 appears in the upper left and lower right corners, with the promise-to-pay text and issuer inscription laid out in letterpress across the centre, above the Governor's signature and the imprint "SALISBURY 1980".
